65th International Cadet Australian Championships 2026
Cross the Strait. Chase the Title.
This summer, the 65th International Cadet Australian Championship invites mainland sailors to do more than race — it invites you to be part of something special from the 28th of December 2026.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the River Derwent, Sandy Bay Sailing Club will host Australia’s best Cadet sailors for a week of tight racing, big breezes, and unforgettable on- and off-water moments. Tasmania has a well-earned reputation for producing tough, adaptable sailors — and racing here will sharpen your skills in ways few mainland venues can.
Expect fair, competitive racing, challenging conditions that reward smart sailing, and a regatta atmosphere that balances serious competition with genuine camaraderie. Sandy Bay Sailing Club is known for its hospitality, strong volunteer culture, and ability to deliver championships that sailors talk about long after the trophies are handed out.
For mainland competitors, this is also an adventure. Bring the family, extend the trip, and experience Tasmania’s beaches, food, wildlife, and natural beauty — all within minutes of the sailing venue. Experience what it is like to sail in the Derwent while Sydney to Hobart finishers go by. Travel is straightforward, accommodation options are plentiful, and the reward is a championship that feels truly international in spirit.
Whether you’re chasing a national title, building big-fleet experience, or ticking off a regatta you’ll remember for years, this is one championship worth crossing Bass Strait for.
Join us at Sandy Bay. Race hard. Sail somewhere unforgettable.
The Sandy Bay Sailing Club Inc. invites entries from International Cadet Class boats for the International Cadet Class 2026 Australian Championship. The Regatta will be sailed on the River Derwent under the authority of the Sandy Bay Sailing Club (SBSC) on behalf of the International Cadet Class of Australia (ICCA).
