SheSails – Women and Girls in Sailing

Women & Girls in Sailing

Sandy Bay Sailing Club is proud to support women and girls in sailing at every level — from first-time sailors to national and international competitors.

Our club provides a welcoming, supportive environment where girls and women can learn new skills, build confidence, make lifelong friendships and enjoy time on the water. As a volunteer-run community club, we believe sailing should be inclusive, fun and accessible to everyone.

Girls can start their sailing journey through our Tackers learn-to-sail programs, progress through Green Fleet, and move into club racing and training across a wide range of classes including Optimist, Cadet, ILCA, 29er and windsurfing.

Sandy Bay Sailing Club proudly supports the Australian Sailing She Sails program, a national initiative designed to encourage and celebrate female participation in sailing. Through programs, coaching and community support, we aim to create more opportunities for women and girls to get involved and stay involved in the sport.

Whether you’re looking to try sailing for the first time, return to the water, want to volunteer or push your racing to the next level — there’s a place for you at SBSC.
